Holidays are fun. But, just think of it - what happens when holidays, which are supposed to help you relax, revitalize and refresh, go wrong? What happens when you get sick, develop a fever, or have an upset stomach? They will rob the joy of your holiday, or vacation. This section takes the anxiety out of your holiday health problems and helps you know what you can do best before you go, or while you are there, and what to do and not to do, when you encounter problems along the way and back.
 
  •  Anti-diarrhoea tablets should be used only if you need to be away from the toilet for any length of time, and not as a long term treatment. If you get burnt by the sun, calamine lotion or yoghurt can help cool your skin, or take a cool bath or shower.
  • Dark leafy green vegetables (i.e., spinach, kale, and collards) have been found to contain two specific antioxidants that protect your eyes from the UV damage that causes cataracts.
  •   When bitten by mosquitos and other nasties, apply lemon/lime juice or alcohol (any sort - the purer the better!) directly to the bite, this may sting slightly but gives great relief, dries up the bite and heals much faster.
